“Taipei Design Award” has entered its 17th year. With the vision of “making design a driving force for shaping a better future” by bringing together the creativity of different cultures, it has become an important tool for promoting urban progress, fostering industry development and improving the quality of life.

Through this design competition, designers and creative talents from all over the world are attracted to participate, shaping the future image of Taipei City and increasing Taipei’s design recognition.

To enable designers to use design as a key to solve problems that the public and society must face and promote sustainable urban development, and to strengthen the close relationship between the Taipei Design Award brand and Taipei City. In addition to the Taipei Design Award competition, the Taipei Impact Design Award was established to collect realized works, activities or projects that improve the welfare of Taipei citizens, enhance the image of Taipei City or promote the development of Taipei industry through “design” solutions.

The Taipei Design Award is not only a competition, but also a platform for creative exchange and design sharing, promoting cross-industry dialog and co-creating a better life, thereby contributing to the value of the entire industry chain.

CATEGORIES

The applications are grouped into three main categories: industrial design, visual communication design, and public space design.

1. Industrial design

Industrial design refers to design work that can be mass produced, including general and digital applications, vehicles, equipment and appliances, everyday objects and household goods, IT and home appliances, etc.

2. Visual communication design

Visual communication includes the design of digital graphic artwork, identity, posters, packaging and print.

3. Design of public spaces

Open space provided for public use, government buildings and private institutions that are partially provided for public use.

KEY DATES

– Start date for receipt of applications: April 12, 2024.

– The closing date for receipt of applications is July 10, 2024.

– Finalists to be announced: August 23, 2024.

– Award Ceremony: November 1, 2024.
